Women’s Open Division – ETC18
Countries entered: Belgium, England, France, Germany, Guernsey, Italy, Scotland, Switzerland, Wales
Defending Champions: England
The Women’s Open is set to be full of excitement and high quality as NTA’s reap the benefits of competing at the 2017 EFT Permit Events. As defending champions, England will not only be defending their crown, but they will be looking to add an unprecedented 8th consecutive European Title and look to extend their remarkable winning streak beyond the 64 games it currently stands at.
However, it would be naive to consider the Women’s Open title a forgone conclusion with Scotland and France both demonstrating their credentials with excellent performances at the EFT Permit Competition in 2017 and Wales will once again be back as they attempt to reverse a result that has haunted them in every European Championship Final since 2008.
Impressively there is an eclectic spread of teams in the Women’s Open division, which is testament to the excellent work that European Nations are doing to promote quality women’s development in our sport. The Women’s Open division will feature heavily via our live stream of the event, so be sure to check it out.
The Women’s Open Division will tap off at 12:30 on Wednesday 18th July via our live stream with Belgium versus France getting us underway. The Gold Medal Game will be at 16:00 on Saturday 21st July on Field One.
