Touch has had a presence in Luxembourg since 2001 when the Kick Cancer into Touch charity tournament was started. The popular one-day mixed competition and summer-time corporate league established a strong foundation for the sport, paving the way for the creation of the country’s first national team. Touch Luxembourg was founded in 2011 to offer an alternative to contact rugby for players in the Grand Duchy and open the sport up to novice players. Weeks after its inauguration, the club made its international debut at the seventh Touch World Cup, held in Edinburgh.
Inspired by the experience, it established a club in Cessange’s Boy Konen stadium on the outskirts of Luxembourg City, where it attracts a regular following of players of all levels and nationalities. It has a strong mixed team and is in the processing of developing a women’s side to compete in international and European tournaments. Touch Luxembourg aims to offer fitness, skills coaching and touch games in a friendly and supportive environment at least once a week, all-year-round. Furthermore, Touch Luxembourg is committed to working closely with local clubs and organisations to share their enthusiasm for a sport and benefit the local community.
