Ireland Touch Association

The ITA was formed in November 2007 by a group of Touch players keen to further the growth of the game in Ireland.  The Association’s application to join the Federation of International Touch was approved at an EGM of the FIT executive in July 2008.

Ireland participated at the 2008 European Championships as a fully affiliated nation. Our Men’s Over 40 team defeated France 40’s in the final 9 – 3 to secure Ireland’s first European Championship title. Ireland has also competed at the 2009 Home Nation’s Championships, the 2010 European Championships and the 2011 Touch World Cup where we competed in Men’s Open, Mixed Open, Men’s 35 and Men’s 40 categories.  For the 2012 European Championships in Italy we hope to also compete in the Women’s Open category.

Locally the game is played casually all year round with official leagues taking place between May and August.
